In-game description[]
This description is taken from the PAL version of Gran Turismo 2:
Believe it or not, the Integra is a road car. It might look, accelerate and corner like a race car; but it really is intended for road use.
Sold under Honda's upmarket Acura brand in the States, though wearing Honda badges in other markets, the raciest Integras of the lot are the GS-R and the Type-R.
The Integra GS-R features the combined trickery of a variable intake manifold and Honda's VTEC variable valve timing under its bonnet to squeeze an impressive 170 BHP at 7,600 rpm from its 1.8-litre four-cylinder 16-valve powerplant. Meanwhile the Type-R's engine reads even more like a race unit. Built in limited numbers and hand-finished, its 1.8-litre four-pot produces 187 BHP at 8,000 rpm. This is the point at which the GS-R is meeting its red line, though the Type-R has another 400 rpm to go. With transmission via a five-speed manual gearbox, getting the Type-R's power to the road through the front wheels is less of a struggle than it might seem thanks to the fitment of a Torsen limited-slip differential.
Such oomph makes the Type-R an extremely rapid piece of kit. 0-62 mph takes a mere 6.7 seconds and the top speed is 145 mph. The GS-R isn't far off, capable of sub-eight second 0-62 mph times and a near-140 mph potential flat out.
The Integras' race-style specification continues with a chassis featuring double wishbone suspension matched to lowered coil springs, uprated dampers and a pair of anti-roll bars. Bracing bars add to the body's torsional stiffness to promise even more precise handling. 195/55 tyres on 15-inch rims assure solid grip while braking efficiency is maximised by large-diameter discs (vented front/solid rear) and an ABS anti-lock system.
To heighten the race-car experience even further, the Integra Type-R also features extensive weight reduction with thin windscreen glass, a lightweight exhaust, a slimmed-down flywheel and a near complete absence of cabin sound insulation materials.
This unused description is taken from the NTSC-U version of Gran Turismo 2:
The Integra fits between the Civic and the Accord in size, but is sportier than either of those cars. The current generation dates to 1995, and had a minor restyling and equipment upgrade for the 1998 model year. It is sold as an Acura in North America, and under the Honda nameplate elsewhere in the world.
The Integra comes in 3-door coupe and 4-door sedan form. The limited-production Type R coupe is at the top of the line. Just below it is the SiR-G version, known as the GS-R in North America.
But don't think of the SiR-G / GS-R as being second-rate. Although it's not the newest car in its class, its handling and power meet or beat any competitors, and, in everyday use it is nearly as quick as the Type R. Its 1.8-liter twincam, 16-valve VTEC four-cylinder engine has 177 hp at 7600 rpm and 130 lb-ft of torque at 6200 rpm in Japanese tune, and 170 hp and 128 lb-ft at the same revs in U.S. specification. The redline is an impressive 8000 rpm, exceeded only by the Integra Type R, Civic Si, and S2000.
The SiR-G / GS-R's double wishbone suspension gives it very good handling abilities, and four-wheel disc brakes ensure stopping power of the same level. This Integra is still the benchmark in its class.
This description is taken from the NTSC-U version of the original Gran Turismo:
As the entry-level of Acura, the Integra embodies all the virtues that have established Acura as the number one luxury import brand in the U.S. market. It features superb road manners and excellent handling. an advanced powertrain, an aero-dynamic exterior shape and a comfortable. ergonomic cockpit designed to make driving enjoyable and safe.
The GS-R model features a 1.8 liter engine equipped with the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system pioneered in the Acura NSX. It also features Programmed Fuel Injection, a dual-stage intake system, a knock sensor, a crankshaft reinforcing bridge, oil jet piston cooling and a number of other innovations to improve reliability and durability, and to provide smoother operation. All this adds up to 170 hp at 7600 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 6200 rpm. These impressive figures give it one of the highest specific outputs of any normally aspirated engine sold in the U.S.
This description is taken from the PAL version of the original Gran Turismo:
This third generation Integra[1] was launched in 1993, with minor changes in 1995 resulting in the current standard look. The varied 13-type line-up offers a choice of a 3-door coupe or 4-door saloon and various engines. The SiR-G is the classiest of the SiR sports series. The engine is a 1.8-litre inline 4-cylinder DOHC B18C with maximum power of 180 PS / 7600 rpm and peak torque of 17.8 kgm / 6200 rpm, achieving[2] 100 PS per litre.
Transmission is either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, while suspension is 4-wheel double-wishbone. The B18C VTEC engine has exceptional sharpness of response and potency in the high rpm range. It moves sharply right through the ranges, and its suspension is not as hard as the Type-R[3] and gives a top-notch ride of pure comfort. It's a top class front-wheel drive sports car.

Trivia[]
- In the NTSC-U version of GT1, the car is branded as Acura Integra GS-R (GS-R being the American equivalent trim of SiR-G). However, the car retains Japanese model headlights, although the car's racing modification windshield banner was updated.
- The racing modification banner continues to say Acura on it in all versions of GT2.
