In-game description[]
After the 1st generation 'Life' and 'Z' went out of production in 1974, Honda waited 10 years to produce their next K-car. Dubbed the Honda 'Today', it was released in 1985.
Consisting of a single sweeping line from the hood to the front windshield, with wheels almost exactly at the four corners of the body, this classic 'one box' design has a fairly long wheelbase at 7.5 ft, with a height of 4.2 ft. To maximise interior space and passenger comfort and minimise the mechanical footprint (Honda's unique "Man Maximum, Mecha Minimum" philosophy), a bathtub floor pan and side structure is employed, providing good leg- and head-room.
To further save space, the front suspension utilizes struts, and the rear is a simple and compact torsion beam design.
The front windshield of the Today was the largest in its class, and uses a double link single wiper, which was an innovation at the time.
Initially the Today was only available in a class 4 commercial license plate, with a lightweight, compact 545 cc SOHC Straight 2 cylinder engine in the small front nose. Its output was modest, at 31 BHP.
The passenger vehicle class was released in 1988 with a revised SOHC inline-3 engine. In 1990, a minor change was implemented with the round headlights changed for rectangular units and equipped with a 660 cc SOHC inline 3 engine.
