The Hyundai Motor Company is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer founded in 1967, and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The group comprises of its luxury division Genesis, its electric vehicle division Ioniq, and its 32.8% owned subsidiary Kia Motors Company. It was world's third largest automaker based on annual vehicle sales in 2023. In 2008, Hyundai (without Kia) was ranked as the eighth largest automaker. Hyundai sold 4.4 million vehicles worldwide in 2012, and with Kia, total sales were 7.12 million.

The company made its Gran Turismo debut in Gran Turismo Concept Tokyo-Seoul.

Trivia[]

  • In 2012, the Polyphony Digital team were spotted performing scans of a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo; while it caused a speculation about a potential inclusion in the series, the Veloster has yet to appear in the series.[1]
