In-game description[]
"A high-performance sports coupé with circuit-developed components"
The Genesis Coupe is a sports model that shares its platform with the Genesis luxury sedan. It is a Hyundai coupé, announced in 2008, that follows in the footsteps of the Tiburon, Turbulence and Tuscani.
The body is shorter than the saloon by 345 mm, with a shorter wheelbase by 115 mm. This, combined with its front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and 4-wheel independent suspension, gave the car superior agility. The engine is available in a 3.6 litre V6 or a 2.0 litre inline-4 turbo. As there aren't many rear-wheel drive sports coupés left in the world, it quickly gained in popularity.
In the U.S. it proved its high potential by doing very well in Formula D and races like the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
A minor mid-model change was performed in 2012 that gave it sharper looks, but the main characteristic changed here was that the engine produced much more power across the board. With the 3.8 litre V6 now producing approximatively 345 BHP, the car was reaching into the realm of supercars. Also, in addition to the previous 6-speed MT, a paddle-shift 8-speed AT was made available as an option.
The high-performance grade model is the 3.8 Track. Springs, dampers and stabilisers are changed to circuit-developed, heavy-duty parts, with an adjustable front camber and Torsen LSD. Brembo 4-piston callipers are also added to the car, focusing on sports driving alone.
In the well-respected AMCI testing, the Genesis Coupe easily outdid rivals in its class.

Freeman Thomas[]
The Genesis Coupe is a true sports car with RWD and a 338.3 BHP 3.8L V6. The exterior styling is emphasised by its RWD proportions. This gives it a long dash-to-front axle, a long hood with a short front-overhang... And a cabin set rearward. The styling lines and graphics are unique, inspired by an East Asian ink-wash painting process. This process begins with abstract black ink-brush strokes to find the right facial and styling expressions. The idea of the artistic process is to create a unique character and interest. In a way, this is an extension of the classical theme of sketching... With the added bonus of allowing the brush strokes to create unexpected graphics.
