In-game description[]
In 2003, Hyundai announced a concept car based on their new coupé that had been released in 2002. This was the Tuscani CCS. The CCS stands for Coupe-Convertible Study. The car was a study model, following the trend of coupé-bodied folding hardtop cabriolets that started in the 1990s.
If you just look at folding hardtops, there were already examples elsewhere in the world. However the revolutionary part of the CCS was that this mechanism was achieved with a glass top that could also be electrically slid back. The folding glass top could be stored in the boot with the touch of a button, and the CCS was able to provide a brightly lit cabin as well as the comfort of a closed all-weather car. The changes between closed, slide and fully open modes was made simple and easy.
This precision-folding glass top was co-developed with Hyundai and Karmann, the world class coachbuilder. Hyundai powered the beautiful silhouette of this car with a 2.7 L V6 engine and 6-speed manual transmission. Had it reached production, the combination with its compact body size without a doubt would have provided an exciting drive feel.
Unfortunately this concept car never made it to production, despite having future advancements planned for it such as built in solar panels and other innovative features.
