In-game description[]

Introduced in May of 1981, the 3-door Piazza was the successor to the 117 coupe, and was also designed by the renowned Giorgetto Giugiaro.

With a length of 169.6 inches, a width of 65.1 inches, and a height of 51.1 inches, it would now be considered to be a compact body design, but it was bigger all around than the Gemini in its day, and for a front wheel drive the front overhang seemed very long. However, this is of course Giugiaro. He obviously did not make the car look dull, but rather brought together a flowing elegance. The instrument panel controls were concentrated around the steering wheel, which projected the image of an aircraft cockpit.

At first, the engines available were a 118 BHP 2.0L SOHC or a 133 BHP 2L DOHC, inline four. In 1984, a turbo model was also added, producing 178 BHP and massively enhanced the driving performance of the Piazza.

In order to enhance handling stability, two new variants were added. The first of these was the 1985 Irmscher spec. Irmscher is known as a strong tuner for Opel, and in the Irmscher model the Piazza attained sportier handling. Bringing together Recaro seats and a MOMO steering wheel, this model had a European flavour to it.

The other model was the "Handling by Lotus" introduced in 1988. Needless to say, this model had Lotus-tuned suspension, but because it differed from the Irmscher spec in the actual suspension mechanism, and even the gearbox as well, handling, stability, and ride quality were improved dramatically. With the BBS alloy wheels and exclusive badge, this car attracted positive attention on the street.
