- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo has been developed from the ground up as a pure, all-electric race car that celebrates the beautiful designs from Jaguar’s illustrious racing heritage while providing an exciting glimpse into the future of Jaguar design and technology.
The state-of-the-art powertrain features powerful, light, compact electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack developed from the race-proven technologies used in the Jaguar I-TYPE 4 Formula E car and the world’s first production battery electric vehicle race series – the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY championship.
Proportion is fundamental to the design of every Jaguar, and to enable the dramatic form of the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo, the battery modules are packaged around the cockpit, contributing to the low centre of gravity and near-perfect weight distribution.
Inspiration for the cockpit of the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo, was drawn from the true icons in Jaguar’s rich racing bloodline: cars such as the revered C-, D-, and E-Type. Fused with a contemporary, driver-focused interior philosophy of pure, beautiful and intricate details, creating an ideal balance between analogue and digital. Access via a powered roof hatch enriches the driver experience still further.
The car’s architecture is lightweight, simple, and dramatic, and is crafted from advanced and experimental materials and finishes. Sitting down low in the cockpit, the driver will feel enveloped by the car – echoing the feel of the three-time Le Mans-winning D-Type.
The perfectly-weighted controls, essential information displayed precisely in the driver’s eyeline, and a virtually seamless view of the road combine to deliver a precision racing experience. Features such as hologram technology add a further flourish. Looking out over the gracefully long bonnet of the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo – a view that is unmistakably Jaguar – the player is fully immersed in the action.
Designed exclusively for Gran Turismo by Jaguar Advanced Design, players are taken on a journey into the future along with the designers for a purely digital yet visceral experience that will truly capture the imagination.
