In-game description[]
"The ultimate mid-class saloon with a touch of luxury."
The XF series appeared as the middle class sedan successor to the S type. And the most powerful version of this lineup that appeared at the January 2009 Detroit Motor Show, is the XFR.
The new SL, direct injection V8 engine developed completely in house is fitted with twin superchargers to produce 503 GP/460.7 ft-lb torque. Obviously its 0-62 mph acceleration of 4.9 seconds puts it well into the top ranks of middle class sedans. In addition, its CO2 output has been greatly reduced in comparison to previous models. The R model is also given a special "Dynamic Mode". When this driving mode is selected with a button on the console, the accelerator response becomes sharp, the exhaust note becomes accented, and stability controls are cut out; making the car ready to fight. And as the name implies, this mode allows "Dynamic" driving performance.
The electronically controlled suspension developed in conjunction with Bilstein shows smooth footwork regardless of driving mode, and provided a drive feel befitting a Jaguar 4 door sedan.
On the exterior of the R is a special bumper and meshed front grill, and a hood with an air scoop. The interior combines aluminum decorative panels and soft grain leathers, making it sporty but till producing that luxurious feel.
Acquisition[]
GT5[]
It is a Standard car, but is rarely, if ever, found in the Used Car Dealership. It can, however, be won from the Professional level of the Top Gear Test Track Special Event. But if the player is lucky enough to find it at the Used Car Dealership, they can buy it for 120,000 Credits. It is a Level 9 car.
GT6[]
It can be purchased from the Jaguar Dealership for 120,000 Credits. It has a Simple interior.
Trivia[]
- Despite being listed as a 2010 vehicle, it is portrayed as a Standard car, as opposed to a Premium car, as the norm for cars that were new to the series (in this case, the car's debut in GT5). It remained Standard in GT6, with these reasons left unexplained.
- The Mazda Axela 23S '03 is another car that debuted in GT5 as a Standard car; it also remained Standard in GT6.
- Its description incorrectly states that it is twin-supercharged; it shares the same engine as the Jaguar XKR Coupe '10, a single-supercharged V8.
