In-game Description[]

This description is taken from the PAL version of the game:

When Jaguar's XJR scorched it's first piece of tarmac in 1994 it seemed to perform magic. This was a four-seater luxury saloon that thought it was a supercar. The XJR's four-litre straight six engine was boosted by a single supercharger which sent its performance rocketing into the Lamborghini league. Then in 1997 Jaguar took this already outstanding super-saloon a stage further and slotted a four-litre, 32-valve, V8 engine under the bonnet. The supercharger stayed put resulting in an astonishing 370BHP at 6,150rpm and a whopping 387lb/ft of torque at a low-down 3,600rpm. Mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox (the manual option disappeared with the introduction of the V8), this mighty motor would shred the rear tyres to ribbons if it wasn't for the standard-fit traction control system. Blistering performance comes with the slightest prod of the driver's right foot. 0-60mph? 5.5 seconds thank you very much. 0-100mph? 13 seconds. Top speed? An electronically governed 155mph. Thanks to all-round double wishbone suspension, the XJR not only takes corners better than Manchester United but it also offers a relaxed ride that's more limousine than Lotus. The power steering offers precise control over the fat 18-inch alloy wheels which wear 255/40ZR18 tyres and the XJR stops sharply thanks to all-round ventilated disc brakes with ABS. The transmission may be automatic, but electronic control means the gearshifts instantly respond to the driver's style and because the system uses Jaguar's clever J-gate, the driver can manually over-ride the gearbox with ease as well. Although the XJR handles superbly and tears up tarmac at a terrific rate, its most impressive feature is the fact that it can carry four adults in the lap of luxury while it does so.
