The Jensen Interceptor MkIII '74 is a Road car produced by Jensen. It appears in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, and Gran Turismo 5.

In-game description

The new Jenson GT replacing the C-V8 in 1967, was the Interceptor.

Although most of the mechanical components in the Interceptor were carried over from the C-V8, the styling was fresh. Italian Carrozzeria Vignale handled the design, and Carrozzeria Touring worked on the production of the body. It could be said that Vignale's outstanding, edgy style was suitable for Jensen, who were prompting the uniqueness and individuality of their GTs.

This fast-back style car had a large glass hatch that could be opened, and was actually highly practical as well. Although the price was high at over 8,000 UK pounds, considering the quality of the production and performance, this was to be expected.

The engine was the same as the C-V8: a Chrysler-made 6.3L/V8OHV. A more powerful 7.2L version was added later. The 7.2L was capable of 385 HP, and although it was heavy at 1.8 tons, and the transmission was only a 3-speed AT, it still boasted a maximum speed of 140 mph and 0-62 mph acceleration in 6.9 seconds. The 7.2L Interceptor was also the passenger car with the largest displacement volume in the UK at the time. A luxury model known as the SP was added in 1971, and this SP was equipped with six options known as the "Six Pack", including air conditioning, stereo, etc. At the same time as the appearance of the SP, the base Interceptor evolved into the Mk.III, and a convertible was also added in 1973.

In the ten years between 1967 and 1976, 5472 standard Interceptors and 105 SP models were produced.
