In-game description[]

Car Index[]

"The first commercial model of the historic supercar, the Countach."

Its breathtakingly fresh and futuristic design was so well penned, the Lamborghini Countach was the company's first supercar unleashed onto the world all the way back at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. The original show car, the LP500, remained just that, as the Countach didn't actually go into production until three years later with the launch of the LP400. This was far and away the closest car to the radical original design concept, and only about 150 of this model were ever made.

Through the years, and LP400S and LP500S went into production, and in 1985, a 5000 Quattrovalve, setting its sights directly onto Ferrari's refreshingly-styled Testarossa, was released. This Countach featured four valves per cylinder to its boisterous V12 that was increased in displacement to 5.2 liters, its maximum power output now reaching a ceiling of 448 HP.

Legend Cars (GT7)[]

The Countach had a huge impact on the motor industry, and plotted the course Lamborghini has followed ever since. Its development was headed up by the brilliant engineer Paolo Stanzani... Who, together with designer Marcello Gandini, produced this scissor-doored masterpiece. Although Countachs were produced for over 25 years, the first generation LP400 remains the most popular. There's just something different about the way it drives. The fact only 150 were made adds scarcity value, too. You can be certain these Countach LP400s are only going to become more popular in the years to come.

Café (GT7)[]

Ed Welburn[]

I'll never forget the first time I saw a Lamborghini Countach on the street. The LP400 is a very fine car indeed. It is a modern classic and the very definition of a supercar. One doesn't even need to open its scissor doors to feel its striking presence. It has an extremely wedge-shaped profile with a steep windshield and high tail. And the bold crease that runs the length of the car is complimented by well-executed surfaces.
