In-game description[]

This description is taken from the NTSC version of Gran Turismo 2:

Winner of an unsurpassed six consecutive World Rally Championship constructor's titles, the Lancia Delta Integrale is a legend. It was the first of a new era of all-wheel drive, turbocharged rally cars to race under Group A rules. Debuting in 1987 as the Delta HF 4WD, the Integrale tag was added the following year. In its most successful form, the Group A rally car's chassis benefitted from MacPherson strut suspension front and rear plus huge traction thanks to a permanent all-wheel drive system. Torque split front to rear could be altered for road conditions. The rally Integrale's power was from a two-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with a claimed 275 BHP at 6,500 rpm, although as much as 350 BHP was rumored to be available. To allow the rally car to race, Group A rules dictated that road cars also had to be built. The first of these was the HF Integrale, introduced to Europe in 1988 with a two-liter, eight-valve turbocharged engine and 185 BHP. For 1989, a 16-valve head increased power to 196 BHP. The ultimate road-going Integrale was the Evoluzione, introduced in 1992. Extensive body tweaks included a hood scoop for greater turbo cooling and flared wheel arches allowing fitting of beefier brakes and larger wheels and tires. Before ceasing production in 1994, the Integrale Evo was at its most powerful with 215 BHP given at 5,750 rpm. Performance matches the legend with 0-62 mph acceleration dealt with in just 5.7 seconds and a 137 mph top speed.
