Land Rover is an British car manufacturer that specialises in four-wheel-drive off-roaders. Founded in Solihull, England, it originally produced agriculture-oriented off-roaders, but soon turned into a reliable off-roader for various purposes. It is currently owned by Indian company Tata Motors, previous owners being Rover, BMW and Ford. It is the sister company of Jaguar, and together they form Jaguar-Land Rover.

Land Rover's first appearance in the Gran Turismo series is in Gran Turismo 4.

Land Rover was founded by Maurice Wilks, who worked for Rover in 1947. The first prototype, known as "Centre Steer" was originally intended as agricultural vehicle that is capable of doing tractor tasks like cultivating crops thanks to its power take-off abilities. Later on, it evolved into a full-fledged off-roader that is famous for its excellent ruggedness and reliability. In late 1970s, it has its own luxury brand: the Range Rover, which serves as a competition to American luxury SUVs.
