"Driven by Andre Couto and Toranosuke Takagi, battling under their new director, Iida Akira."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT6's Dealership

The Lexus DENSO DUNLOP SARD SC430 '08 is a Race car produced by Lexus. It appears in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

The car appears to be the #39 driven by Toranosuke Takagi and André Couto, who achieved a 21st place overall finish GT500 Driver's Championship (last place among the full-time driver lineups) and a 16th place overall finish (last place) in the GT500 Team's Championship in the 2008 Super GT season. Additionally, Koki Saga served as their third driver in the Suzuka 1000km race, but was unclassified in the Drivers' Championship due to the car finishing 15th in the race (non-points finish).

In-game description[]

The Lexus team that participated in the Super GT Series, Japan's most popular motorsports venue, had two major rivals for the 2008 season: the Honda NSX, which had secured the championship in 2007 with overwhelming speed, and the Nissan GT-R, always a threat to win on any track.

The sole objective of Team Lexus for 2008 was to achieve its second championship title since entering the Super GT Series under the Lexus brand (it had previously raced under the Toyota name). Because vehicle regulation changes were anticipated for the 2009 season, Lexus made no major improvements to the SC430 race car. Other than mildly improving aerodynamics - including rerouting the air flow underneath the body - the car was essentially unchanged from the 2007-spec model.

Supplying the power was the 3UZ-FE, a 4.5-liter V8 that produced 473 HP/6,800 rpm and 376.1 ft-lb of torque at 5.600 rpm.

Lexus Team SARD, running the Denso Dunlop Sard SC430, hired racing driver Akira Iida, once called "The Fastest Man in GT" as team manager. Also newly selected as a partner of driver Andre Couto was former Formula 1 pilot Toranosuke Takagi. The pair did well, but the car still couldn't match the speed of its rivals, and the team fell short of expectations with 5th as the highest placing that season.
