The Lexus RC F GT3 '17 is a race car produced by Lexus. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport (as part of Update 1.15) and Gran Turismo 7.
The car appears to be the #54, driven by Albert Costa and Philipp Frommenwiler, who participated in the Pro class of the 2017 International GT Open season. The car achieved a 3rd place finish in both Driver's and Team's Championships. This is reflected on the name it had in GT Sport, Lexus RC F GT3 (Emil Frey Racing) '17.
The alternate livery is based on the #14 Vasser Sullivan livery used in the 2021 IMSA SportsCar Championship, while another livery added in Version 1.35 is based on the #50 Anest Iwata Racing car used in the 2023 Super GT Championship, being driven by Igor Fraga, Yuga Furutani, and Miki Koyama.
Liveries[]
Three liveries are available for this car:
- ANEST IWATA Racing (#50, GT7 version 1.35 onwards)
- Variation (#14 Vasser Sullivan, GT7 only)
- Emil Frey Racing (#54)
In-game description[]
"Emil Frey Racing was one of the first teams with a GT3 version of the Lexus RC F."
Lexus had been running a RC F based machine in the VLN series and the Super GT series since 2015, but this was as a specially allowed vehicle with no homologation. They used this experience to move forward with their development, and entered the RC F GT3 prototype in round 9 of the 2016 Fall VLN series. Here they successfully won the SPX class for specially permitted cars.
The prototype was developed with the intent of eventually delivering a GT machine to GT3 race teams around the world, so it was to be controllable for even amateur racers, and provide reliable performance with reinforced components. By changing designs through thorough durability calculations for every component, weight was reduced while securing rigidity. The design of various parts including the front and rear fenders was also changed to further improve aerodynamic performance. The engine is a 5 litre DOHC V8 of the production model tuned to over 532 BHP. This car acquired homologation, and debuted as the Lexus RC F GT3 in 2017.
In the following year of 2017, the car was also provided to Emil Frey Racing of Switzerland, who were a part of the development team for the RC F GT3 machine. Participating in the GT Open Championship of Europe, they won 4 races out of 14, and placed 3rd in the season team rankings.
Dealership (GT7)[]
This Lexus RC F GT3 was created to wage war in the FIA GT3 championships. This car has seen action in Japanese Super GT races, the U.S. IMSA Series, and the European GT Series. And the amazing thing is that this svelte Lexus machine has won in every series it has appeared in!

Trivia[]
- This car was used to represent Suzuki during the Manufacturer's Exhibition race held at the 2019 Gran Turismo World Tour in Tokyo (coinciding with the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show), as Suzuki at the time did not have a Gr.3 car.
- The livery the car used in the race is based on Team Suzuki Ecstar's MotoGP motorcycles used from 2015 to 2019.
- Ironically, Suzuki themselves are an independent brand; the reason for having this car represent them is unknown. This livery cannot be accessed under normal means unless recreated in the Livery Editor.
- Suzuki started its representation in the Manufacturers' Series/Cup with the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3 Version) starting from the second half of the 2022 GTWS season.
- This was the Manufacturers' Cup-winning car of the 2018 season of the FIA-Certified Gran Turismo Championships Manufacturer Series (as the inaugural winner in GT Sport era of competition), and in the 2024 season of Gran Turismo World Series GTWS Manufacturers Cup (in GT7 era). This makes Lexus the first manufacturer to win multiple Manufacturer Series/Cup titles with the same car across different games.
- In GT Sport, despite a minor difference in power outputs, both this car and the prototype car share the same Balance of Performance ratings.
- This is no longer true as of GT7, where Gr.3 Balance of Performance is most often calculated in a way to make a manufacturer's most modern car its most attractive choice (in this case, this car usually gets a more favourable BoP than the prototype).
- This car, in its Vasser Sullivan and Anest Iwata liveries in GT7, is the first IMSA GTD and GT3-based GT300 car, respectively, to be represented in the series.
- It also makes it the car with most variation liveries in the game, at three. This record was tied in version 1.38, where the Mazda Atenza Gr.4, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept, and Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) '22 received a third variation livery; the white variant of the Mazda Spirit Racing livery.
- As with the 2023 livery of the Toyota GR010 HYBRID '21 and the Gran Turismo movie version of Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 '18, due to the way the number box is placed on the Anest Iwata variation livery, using that livery in a Sport Mode race that places mandatory number boxes will cause the mandatory number boxes (both on the doors and on the hood) to not fully cover the GT300 number box.

Notes[]
- โ As GT Sport's servers has been shut down on January 31, 2024, and as the last Manufacturer Series race in GT Sport was held on December 25, 2021, it is no longer possible to obtain the car this way.
- โ The car from the Viewer Campaign, which was dependent on which team won the Manufacturers Cup (had another team won the Manufacturers Cup, their car would be delivered instead) was delivered on December 10, 2024 if the player participated before December 9, or on December 17, 2024, if the player participated between December 10 to October 16. The player had until December 24, 2024 to claim the car obtained this way.
