The Lightweight "K" Cup (Known as Lightweight K-car Cup in the PAL version of the game) is a race series in Gran Turismo 2 geared towards Japanese kei cars. Though the description of this event suggests that it is limited to these types of vehicles, there are several non-kei cars that are eligible for this event.

- As mentioned earlier, there are several subcompact vehicles that are eligible for this event as well, as the game only checks the BHP output of the vehicle being entered, not the body type. Examples are the Mazda Demio family, the Nissan March, Tommy Kaira M13, and Mini Cooper.
- This is the only event in the Gran Turismo series to feature degressive BHP limits.
- The 150 PS/147 HP Rome Short event is the only event that does not require a license of any kind in the game that awards a prize car.
