Lotus is a British automobile manufacturer of sports and racing cars based in Hethel, Norfolk, England. The company designs and builds race and production automobiles of light weight and high handling characteristics, and among the few marques that popularized the concept of "British Sports Cars" (lightweight, nimble, sporty roadsters).

The British automobile manufacturer is featured in every game since Gran Turismo 2 with the exception of Gran Turismo Sport. It was supposed to appear in Gran Turismo Sport but was scrapped in the final game, citing licensing issues (even though both the 2009 Evora and 2011 Elise were seen in the game before its release).
