In-game description[]
In 2010, the Lotus Elise received its second minor update, and became the 'Series 3' with its 2011 models.
The most notable change was the facelift that was performed for the first time in 11 years. The front bumper and front fenders were newly designed, and the headlights were integrated with LED position lights and turn signals. While its looks became nearer to the clean-cut looks of the Evora, its shape also became lower and wider. Aerodynamics were revised all around, reducing the air resistance by 4% in total. Other major changes include a new rear bumper design and an enlarged diffuser underneath.
There were 3 cars in the lineup, and the highest performance SC grade model was powered by Toyota's 2ZZ-GE engine, which Lotus tuned by adding a supercharger. The mid-grade Elise R was powered by a naturally aspirated 2ZZ-GE producing 189 BHP, and carries over most of its mechanism from the Series 2. The basic model that was called the Elise S during the Series 2 days became just the "Elise", and the engine was downsized to a 1.6 L 1ZR-FAE engine. However the power output was still equal to that of previous models, at 134 BHP, while improving fuel economy by 23% and reducing CO2 output by 13%. The transmission was also upgraded from a 5-speed to a 6-speed.
With the car only weighing 876 kg, even the basic grade model attains a top speed of 204 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 6.7 seconds, keeping almost the same performance as the Elise S of Series 2 powered by a 1.8 L engine.
