Description[]

The Brutale is the naked version of the MV Agusta F4. Like the F4, this bike is a technical masterpiece, but it's also accessible and fun to ride. The Brutale feels small, and that makes it easy to stand at red lights. And with its character and look and feel, the Brutale will not only get you where you're going—it'll get you there in Italian style.

The 750cc Brutale S has a big brother—the Brutale 910, with the cc capacity to match the name. The 910's bore and stroke are 76.0 x 50.1 mm, compared witn 73.8 x 43.8 mm for me 750 and, for the F4 1000, 76.0 x 55.00 mm. Cagiva widened the 910's bore to the same diameter as the 1000 but kept the stroke increase to a minimum. That way, the engine, although a little larger in displacement, can still be contained in the same frame, for extra power but with the same manoeuvrability.

The 910's engine is however a different beast from the 750's. At low r.p.m., power is only 7 hp greater than the 750, but the boost is bigger at higher engine speeds: 21 hp at 5,000 r.p.m. and 29 hp at 8,000 r.p.m. And in contrast to the whiplash-inducing 750—like a multi-stage spaceship, igniting its first-stage booster rockets at 5,000 r.p.m. and the second stage at 8,000 r.p.m.—the 910 behaves more maturely and, with improved throttle control, is much easier to ride.

Improvements learned in crafting the F4-1000S were incorporated into the 910. The bike's performance, for instance, is also due to the engine alone being lightened by 5.8 lbs—primarily in the moving parts, including the crankshaft. Exterior changes, like adjustable footpegs, improve the bike's practicality and give it an more luxurious feel.
