  • Silver/Blue

Description[]

The MV Agusta F4 was released to commemorate the revival of the legendary Agusta name by the brand's new owner, the Cagiva Group. Cagiva wanted an inline-4-cylinder machine with record-setting speed to do the Agusta name justice. The F4 drew a large crowd when unveiled at the 1997 Milano Motorcycle Show and was glowingly praised by motorcycle journalists who rode it at Monza in the spring of 1999.

The F4 also reinforced the already solid reputation of its creator, Massimo Tamburini, the Italian designer and Bimota co-founder who moved to Cagiva after creating many of Bimota's most renowned masterpieces. Before the F4, he had also designed the Ducati 916 for Cagiva, which owned the Ducati brand at that time.

The four silencers under the seat generate a powerful, reassuring sound, and the truss frame transmits to the rider just enough vibration to feel the pulse of the road. Appearing when the inline-4-cylinder segment was almost completely dominated by Japanese manufacturers, the F4 showed the world that a 4-cylinder machine could offer both excitement and amazing control. In fact, it's no exaggeration to say that the F4 had a significant impact on Japanese motorcycle manufacturers.

Initially the 750cc F4 was made available in two variations: a limited-edition luxury model, the Serie Oro, and the midlevel Serie S—called the F4S for short. Soon after that, the 1-liter F4-1000 appeared as the new star of the lineup.

This bike, the F4-1000S, is positioned as the basic model of the lineup. Even when compared to today's advanced Japanese 1-litre sportbikes, the F4-1000S still looks stunning and shows no sign of ever going out of style. Midrange torque is powerful, thanks in part to the EBS electronic control system that also reduces engine braking. The end result is the control and power to go head-to-head with any machine Japan could build.
