In-game description[]
- "This Maserati A6GCS Spider was bodied by the small Italian Carrozzeria, of Medardo Fantuzzi. A modest[1] production of the beautiful Fantuzzi spiders were built on the A6GCS chassis. Like most of the competition bodies from the Bolognese coachbuilder, the Maserati had a functional beauty.[2] That same beauty was true of the stunning Maserati 250F and sharknose Ferrari 156 Formula 1 cars, and dozens of other Maserati and Ferrari sports racing cars. The A6GCS had a twin cam straight-six mounted up front, designed by famed Italian engineer Gioacchino Colombo. Fitted with three twin throat Weber carburetors,[1] the 1,985 cc engine had a maximum output of 167.7 BHP. This car, chassis 2078 has a fantastic history. Built as a works racing car, it was assigned to the great Luigi Musso for the 1954 season. Musso contested ten races in 1954, and came away with three overall wins and five class victories, becoming the Italian 2,000 cc champion. A6GCS 2078 was sold to Argentina, where it was raced with mixed results in 1955. It returned to Italy in 1986. This car won the Gran Turismo Trophy at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance."

The way this car adds an Italian improvisational quality to its highly refined form is nothing short of impressive. One thing that the Maserati brothers bequeathed to their former home when they left it to form O.S.C.A... Was the straight-six SOHC engine. This engine was originally fitted to a grand tourer, which paved the way for the A6GCS. As if it were a light fabric, the body which covers the four wheels and drivetrain... Kept the car's weight to an absolute minimum. It is a masterpiece of Fantuzzi design. Also, you'll recognize the design language that connects it to the famed Type 61 Birdcage. It's a thrilling study, indeed!
