The Mazda3, also known as the Mazda Axela in China and Japan until 2019, is a compact car produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda since 2003, currently in its fourth generation. It replaced the long-serving Mazda Familia which had been produced from 1963 to 2003. The Mazda3 has sold over six million units worldwide since its introduction.
The Mazda3 is part of the Stylish, Insightful, and Spirited design philosophy. Since the 2012 model year, the Mazda6 is offered with Skyactiv technology. It also had a performance-oriented version marketed until 2013 as the Mazdaspeed3 in North America, Mazdaspeed Axela in Japan, and the Mazda3 MPS in Europe and Australia.
