Trivia[]
- In 2020, it was reported that the 2022 Mazda6 (the Atenza name will be dropped in Japan) will feature a rear-wheel drivetrain, as with this car, although its production was later shifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This eventually culminated with the introduction of the rear-drive electric Mazda EZ-6, co-developed with the Chinese Changan Deepal L07.
- During GT Sport's lifespan, only Gran Turismo Silver was offered in the Mileage Exchange.
- Unlike its base model, it reuses the engine from its Gr.3 counterpart, retuned for street use, judging by its sound.
