The Mazda Atenza Gr.4 is a race car produced by Mazda, based on the Mazda Atenza Sedan XD L Package '15. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

Colors[]

The original livery is available in two color options, both of which are unnamed in-game:

  • Snowflake White Pearl Mica
  • Soul Red Premium Metallic

The following variation liveries are available for the car:

  • Mazda Spirit Racing (GT7 v1.25 onwards)
  • Mazda Spirit Racing (White) (GT7 v1.38 onwards)

Description[]

"This is an original racing version of the Mazda6 for Gr.4 competition."

Brand Central (GT7)[]

The third-generation Atenza served as the base for this original Gran Turismo Gr.4 car. Like the production model, it comes with four-wheel drive, which gives the car excellent grip. A hood scoop is attached to improve heat dissipation. Look closely and you'll see plenty more tweaks to the body.

Trivia[]

  • Despite the base model being powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine, the Atenza Gr.4 has a much higher redline, even noticeable by its sound, which is also true for the Gr.3 variant. This may hint to a potential engine swap.
  • When set to red, the car's livery resembles the Gr.3 livery, itself based on the Mazda 6 SkyActiv-D GX race car, which participated in the 2013 Rolex Sports Car Series season.
    • A similar livery (and bodywork) was used in the Chinese Touring Car Championship in 2015, entered by Beijing Luisu Racing Team and driven by Ryan Shinron. The car used in CTCC also features a tuned two-liter gasoline engine.
  • The car uses an unbranded version of the Yokohama ADVAN Racing RS II wheel.
  • Even with the introduction of the Mazda3 Gr.4 in GT7 version 1.38, the Atenza Gr.4 remained as Mazda's Manufacturers Cup loaner car for the 2024 GTWS season, as well as the preceding exhibition seasons (of which no Gr.4 races were held).
