In-game Description[]

The third generation DEMIO, called the Mazda2 in the U.S. market, made its debut at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. Traditionally, the DEMIO had the image of being a small, utility minivan in its home market, but the new model completely transformed its image. It featured a stylish exterior that was good fit in Europe, where compact hatchbacks are still very popular. The wheelbase remained the same as its predecessor, but the car appeared more compact and neat, thanks to its head-turning design defined by contrasting surfaces.

But what had changed most came under the body panels. The car utilized the lightweight 'Mazda DE Platform' which was developed in cooperation with Ford. While many of its competitors were becoming larger to improve safety, Mazda took the DEMIO in the other direction, choosing a smaller, lightweight base design. In addition, thorough miniaturization and weight reduction efforts were applied to the accessories, as well as part in areas not affected by structural stress.

As a result, the car's weight was reduced by 100 kg while still maintaining a super rigid body structure. The "SPORT" grade 5MT model is 80 kg lighter than the previous model at 1,000 kg. The 1.5-liter normally-aspirated engine produces the 111 BHP and 103.4 lb-ft of torque and is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or the first 7-speed CVT in the segment. As a result, the car is much quicker than its predecessor. Large brake discs and a sport-tuned suspension greatly improve its cornering prowess, making it as agile as anything in its class.
