For the Gr.X version of the car, see McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo.

"This version of McLaren's future is realized in Gr.1 form with Vision Gran Turismo."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT7's car collection

The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo Gr.1 is a race car produced by McLaren. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

This car is an alternate version of the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo, which was adapted to fit the Gr.1 class, where cars with performance similar to that of LMP1 cars are competing. The only real change compared to the original car is the disabling of the Drag Reduction System (DRS) and reduced horsepower.

Description[]

"This Gr.1 racing car is a Gran Turismo exclusive based on the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo. Power is restricted to 936.9 BHP[1] as per group regulations, but it packs a serious punch nonetheless. McLaren's driver-focused technology makes this a formidable weapon in any racing arsenal."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central

The car's description is mostly the same as the base McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo's, albeit slightly altered, stating at the bottom that it is tuned for Gr.1 regulations by Gran Turismo.

Trivia[]

  • There is a red light on the rear bottom section that constantly flashes over time.
  • Unlike the original car which cannot be tuned, this version features more tuning options for the suspension and transmission, as well as a high rpm turbocharger that increases its power by about 50 HP. In GT Sport, weight could also be reduced.
  • In GT Sport, just like its original variant, when selected in Arcade Mode, the left screen does not show the interior and will show off various angles of the car instead, likely due to the limited space from within the cockpit.
  • As this is a Gr.1 race car, or more specifically, a sports endurance racer, given the required motorcycle-like driving form, realistically speaking, racing under long periods of time could place stress and tension on the driver's neck and shoulders.
  • In GT7 version 1.49, the car's total power output was reduced from 936 HP to 813 HP (before Balance of Performance application), because its motor output was halved from 247 HP to 123 HP. However, the Brand Central text was never updated to reflect this.
