In-game Description[]
- "The "Black Series" is a name given to the meanest road cars that Mercedes-AMG[1] produces. This AMG GT is one of just six[2] Black Series models ever developed. This means it's not just supremely powerful, it's also supremely rare. Mercedes AMG[1] has experienced success in a variety of motorsports genres, including Formula 1 and touring cars. And the cutting-edge technology developed on the track has trickled down to the Black Series. The car's aerodynamics and chassis development incorporate technology from the GT3 race machine. The engine is one of AMG's jewels in the crown, boasting 693.3 HP of power. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2020, the AMG GT recorded a time of 6:43:616, a record for production cars at the time."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
Since it's debut in 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT has seen a number of variations including roadsters, 4-door coupés and high performance editions but in 2020 the ultimate AMG GT was introduced. This was the AMG GT Black Series.
The Black Series name is given to limited production models developed to include as much of the technology developed by Mercedes-AMG in their motorsports endeavors as is possible on a production model platform.
The sixth of these Black Series models, this model features specially tuned 4L V8 twin-turbo engine increasing the power and torque to 719.9 BHP and 800Nm (81.57 kgfm) respectively. In order to effectively transfer this power the 7 speed DCT transmission has also been strengthened and the gear ratios revised. As a result the car is able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, 0-200 km/h within 9s and reach a top speed of 325km/h
The suspension has also been modified and a number of material and construction changes have been made across the car to improve handling and cornering ability.
The bodywork also features various racing car styles modification but these are all strictly due to necessity.
