―In-game catch text for the car, from GT7's car collection

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4 is a race car produced by Mitsubishi, based on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition '15. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

Colors[]

Three colors are available for this car, however, they are unnamed in-game:

  • Red
  • Lightning Blue Mica
  • Gray

Description[]

"The Lancer Evolution Final Edition served as the foundation for this Gran Turismo-exclusive Gr.4 race car. The Lancer's electronically-controlled 4WD system is retained, so expect amazing handling on all types of driving surfaces."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central

The car shares the same description as the base Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition '15, stating at the bottom that it is specially tuned for Gr.4 regulations by Gran Turismo.

  • The default livery on this car is based on that of the Mitsubishi Lancer WRC05. Additionally, the car's default number, #11, is a symbolic reference to the base car being (presently) the final Lancer Evolution, in absence of an "Evolution XI". This symbolic numbering can also be found on its Gr.3 (primary livery only) and Gr.B counterparts.
  • In GT Sport's database files, there is an entry for a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition N300, complete with a car name menu asset;[2] it also has a thumbnail for use with an early design of the Mission Challenge menu.[3] It is possible that it evolved into this Gr.4 car, as early screenshots show the car with similar aero parts, but with plain road car colors.
  • The car uses RAYS ZE40 wheels, a wheel available in the Livery Editor (GT Sport)/GT Auto (GT7).
  • Due to an inconsistency in the car's LOD textures/model, the Puma Forever Faster logo on the side skirts appears only under normal gameplay (as well as when the car is being shown on the Daily Workout wheel in GT Sport, but not once the car has been chosen as the prize car); outside of it, like in the main menu, dealerships, Scapes, or the Livery Editor, it is replaced by the Qizilbash Fitness (a fictional sponsor) decal. This inconsistency was not fixed in GT7.
  • In the Livery Editor, the car's roof is part of the Other layer; the BMW M4 Gr.4 also features a similar behavior.

Notes[]

  1. As GT Sport's servers has been shut down on January 31, 2024, and as the last Manufacturer Series race in GT Sport was held on December 25, 2021, it is no longer possible to obtain the car this way.
