- "A legendary 24-hour race where you run continuously on the most grueling circuit in the world."
- ―In-game description
The Nürburgring 24 Hours Endurance is an event in Gran Turismo 4, held at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, partially based on the actual 24 Hours of Nürburgring event. At 24 hours, it is the longest single race event in the game, tied with the Sarthe Circuit 24 Hours I and Sarthe Circuit 24 Hours II. It also holds the largest single race prize pool among all events in the game.
The aim of this endurance race, rather than to complete a set number of laps in the fastest time, is to complete the most complete laps within the 24 hour period. The race ends at the end of the first lap completed after the checkered flag falls (24 hours and finish that lap).
Winning the Nürburgring 24h Endurance is one of only two ways in Gran Turismo 4 to own the Formula Gran Turismo race car (the other being to complete the game to 100%), arguably the best car in the game in terms of acceleration and handling.
The event, which takes 24 hours to complete in A-Spec mode can be won in just over 8 hours if the player uses B-Spec.
Possible Opponents[]
This chart lists all possible AI opponents that can appear in this event. The "Lap Interval" column shows how many laps the opponent will stay out on the track before pitting in. The Chaparral 2D (present only in the international versions of the game) will be your main opponent should it appear, as it handles like silk and on the Nürburgring that is an absolute necessity.

Trivia[]
- Due to the limitations of the PS2, although the event takes place over the course of 24 hours real-time, neither the weather nor the time of day changes during the race. In addition, there is no way to save the game mid-race even when entering the pits and this can be tedious to finish due to having to leave the console on for a whole day.
- This event only takes place on the Nordschleife section of the track. The current real-life 24hrs of Nurburgring also includes the Grand Prix section of the circuit.
