The Nissan 370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy Version) '08 is a race-tuned sports car manufactured by Nissan. This tuned version of the sixth generation Z-car appears as a Premium car in Gran Turismo 5, as well in the GT Academy 2013 demo that previewed Gran Turismo 6. A standard version of the Japanese release of the 370Z (Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) '08) is available from the dealerships.

When the sixth-generation Fairlady Z, the Z34 was introduced in December 2008, most people assumed that the car would be just a mildly updated version of the Z33 that revived the Z car in January 2002. The 370Z, as we knew it, appeared relatively the same; however, upon closer inspection, it became evident that this was an all-new car.
Built atop the E platform that also serves as the foundation of the Infiniti "Skyline" G37, the new Z featured an aluminum hood, door and rear hatch that kept the car's curb weight about the same as the previous vehicle (around 1500 kg). The new Z was nimble, thanks to a shorter 3.9 inches wheelbase and retuned suspension system that consisted of a double-wishbone setup in front and multilink at rear.
Under the hood was a more powerful engine, the VQ37VHR with VVEL. VVEL was a mechanism that varies the operating angle and lift of the valves for improved power and lower emissions. With 200 cc more displacement, the new V-6 pumped out 331 HP/7000 rpm and 269.0 ft-lb of torque that peaked at 5200. The engine came mated to either a quick-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission, or a revolutionary 6-speed manual gearbox equipped with the world's first SynchroRev[1] control mechanism. This system automatically adjusted engine rpm when downshifting, eliminating the need to heel and toe.
Thus the Z34 became a true enthusiast sports car that even novices could drive effectively.

Unlike most Premium cars, this car cannot be purchased from the dealerships. It must be won from a Level 12 ticket or 1000 Ticket.
- A gift ticket for an alternate version of this car, with GT Academy 2012 decals, was sent to players who completed the challenges in Round 8 of the GT Academy 2012 competition, between May 1 and June 25, 2012, with all gold awards.
Trivia[]
- For some reasons, many players consider this car as the most rare car available in Gran Turismo 5. This car is also well known for its always small probability to come as a prize car, with a chance of 1/28 (3,6% probability) if a Level 12 Ticket is used, and a chance of 1/1031 (0,096% probability) if a 1000 Ticket is used. These factors are enough to make this car also the hardest prize car of the game, which requires a bit of luck in order to obtain it.
- The Audi R18 TDI (Le Mans 2011) is a similar case in Gran Turismo Sport, as it is exclusively available from Daily Workout prize wheel for completing a specific mileage each day.

The GT Academy 2013 version of the 370Z Tuned Car
- This car also appears in GT Academy 2013 demo that previewed Gran Turismo 6, based on the GT Academy 2012 car but with references to 2012 changed to 2013 to reflect the year of the event. However, the car was removed from the retail release of the aforementioned game.[2]
