The Nissan FALKEN☆GT-R '04 is a car produced by Nissan. It appears in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.
The car appears to be the #44, driven by Roland Asch, Dirk Schoysman, Takayuki Kinoshita and Tetsuya Tanaka, who finished the 2004 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 5th place overall.
Description
"The Falken GT-R achieved the highest position for Japanese car at the Nürburgring."
Falken Motors introduced a Skyline GT-R in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring from 2001 through 2005. The Falken GT-R was based on an R34 prepared for the Japanese domestic Super Taikyu Endurance Series.[1] The car was powered by a custom-tuned RB26DETT developed by Nismo. Displacement was increased to 2771 cc, with power peaking around 493 HP. But what was impressive about this powerplant wasn't output, but its overall responsive nature.
Fatter tires were installed to ensure maximum grip through the Ring's many high-speed sweepers. Wider fenders were incorporated to house these tires. The stock hood and doors and trunk lid were swapped for ones made from lightweight carbon fiber. The all-wheel drive system from the Super Taikyu setup was retained, enabling the car to respond to changing road-surface conditions.
The car was driven by nearly the same four-man team for each of the five races at the Ring: Roland Asch, a veteran German race driver who specializes in races at the Nürburgring; Dirk Schoysman, a Nissan test driver with extensive Nürburgring experience; Tetsuya Tanaka, who drove the GT-R in the Japan Grand Touring Car Championship and Super Taikyu; and Takayuki Kinoshita, a race driver turned automotive journalist (Masahiro Hasemi drove in place of Tanaka in 2001. The GT-R made a strong showing every year, placing 5th overall, the highest ever for a Japanese car, in 2002 and 2004.
