In-game description[]
Car Index (GT7)[]
"This racing spec of the GT-R was created for GT3 category competition."
The Nissan GT-R GT3, based on the road-going R35 GT-R, was a familiar presence in the FIA's GT3 class. When the race car was introduced in 2012, it came powered by the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 as in the production model, with the output of the engine rated well above 493.1 HP.
A new version of the race car appeared in 2015 with a stiffer body structure and going by a new name: the Nismo GT3. In 2018, a dry sump oil system was incorporated to allow the powerplant to sit lower in the engine bay by 5.9 inches, giving the car a better overall center of gravity. It was also moved aft by 5.9 inches to optimize front and rear weight distribution.
The radiators and intercoolers were repositioned to provide enhanced airflow and better engine cooling. By redirecting how the air flowed over the body, the Nismo GT3 possessed improved body stability, while a stiffer front body rigidity and retuned suspension system improved handling.
Brand Central (GT7)[]
Developed by Nissan's motorsports division, NISMO, the GT-R NISMO GT3[1] is a race car designed to battle in the FIA GT3 class. This one is the 2018 model. You'll notice the power unit has been given a lower and more central position to improve handling. The driver's seat has also been lowered, contributing to enhanced steering response.

Trivia[]
- It was the championship-winning car of the 2023 Gran Turismo World Series Manufacturers' Cup.
- It is also the first Manufacturers Cup-winning car to not be directly linked to Toyota in any way.
- The default livery is based on the Schulze Motorsport livery used on the 2013 model.
- The in-game depiction appears to be one for sprint races, as it lacks fog lights. Moreover, it lacks the option to install one in GT Auto.
- Purchasing the Type A rear bumper part in GT Auto will install the 2001-2020 Nissan emblem.
- The Gran Turismo film livery was included in the trailer for Update 1.36.
- Previous additional variation liveries (such as the Mazda Spirit Racing liveries for the RX-Vision GT3 and the Atenza Gr.4, the 2023 TGR GT Cup livery for the Toyota 86 Gr.4, the 2023 livery for the Toyota GR010 HYBRID '21, and the Anest Iwata Racing livery for the Lexus RC F GT3 '17) were never advertised in an update trailer. This has resulted in the misconception that the update added another GT-R GT3, despite being already added in version 1.25.
- The Gran Turismo film livery, as obtained from clicking the movie banner at the World Map, cannot be sold from the Used Car Dealership's Car Valuation Service once obtained. This property is shared with the Red Bull X2019 25th Anniversary.
- It can, however, be bought as a variation livery from Brand Central at any time.
- The car that was used in the film was a 2015-specification GT-R NISMO GT3, a model that never made an appearance in the series.
- Additionally, the film's livery used the 1997-2017 Michelin logo.
- Much like the 2023 livery for the Toyota GR010 HYBRID '21 and the Anest Iwata livery of the Lexus RC F GT3 '17, due to the way the number box is placed on the film livery, using it in a Sport Mode race that places mandatory number boxes will cause them to partially covering the PlayStation and Nissan logos on the doors, as well as causing it to appear with duplicate number boxes on the hood.
- The default wheel features signs of wear on the centerlock.
