In-game description[]

"The 2017 Nissan GT-R boasted numerous improvements, including a refined engine setup. Ignition control was optimized, resulting in a 19.7 HP power increase over the previous model. Maximum power output was now rated at 562.1 HP. The car also featured significant styling changes to the already-menacing exterior. This included a new front end inspired by the GT-R Concept R35."

Car Index (GT7)[]

The Nissan GT-R was announced at the New York International Auto Show in April 2016. For the R35 GT-R, this was the biggest update since its release in 2007. This is a GT-R, a luxury Japanese sports car. When you look at the advancements in detail, you can see the extent to which Nissan has gone to polish the model.

The exterior changes do not just involve looks; they balance air resistance, downforce, and cooling performance at a high level. On the front is Nissan's signature design: the V motion. The rigidity of the engine hood has been raised to suppress deformation at ultra high speeds, and the new front spoiler achieves high levels of downforce.

The interior has also been changed greatly. There is high quality, craftsman stitched leather for the instrument panel. The paddle shift is now fixed to the steering wheel, allowing a higher steering angle from which a driver can shift without letting go, for better control. All the equipment is wrapped around the driver to cater to their every need, from every angle.

The maximum output of the 3.8 L V6 twin turbo engine, built individually and by hand, has been raised to 565 BHP / 6,800 rpm, with a maximum torque of 467 lb-ft (64.6 kgfm). Combined with the improved 6-speed dual clutch transmission, it provides smoother acceleration through mid to high speed ranges. Of course, to be considered the world's best handling car, the cornering performance has also been improved.

This is a car that personifies a Japanese sports car, as can be seen in its 'Deep Evolution'.

Café Conversations (GT7)[]

Shiro Nakamura[]

Ah, this is the 2017 model, the second 'minor' update. The front design was actually... Taken from the GT-R Proto that we displayed at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. At the time, we felt that it was too aggressive for a car making its debut... So we decided to shelve it until the time was right. And the time did come, as you can see. This 2017 model has a very complete look to it, which I quite like myself. Also, I find the interior to be attractively modern, with its exceptional use of texture.

  • The price is actually based on the Japanese 2015 Pure edition's one.
    • There is an entry for the Nissan GT-R Pure edition '15 (with internal name gtr_pure_15) in GT Sport's car database, but nothing else remained of the older model.[1]
      • A Scapes photo of an older model R35 GT-R was displayed at the GT Sport launch event at Copper Box, England in May 2016,[2] but it is unclear whether it was the 2015 Pure edition or the 2012 Black edition, which also has similar rims.
  • The 3D model is based on the North American specification, proven by the left-hand steering position and imperial units on the speedometer.
  • The engine displacement is left blank despite both the 2017 GT-R NISMO and 2024 GT-R having their displacements (3,799 cc) listed.
