For the car appearing in Gran Turismo 4 to 6 and 7, see Nissan SILEIGHTY '98.

The Nissan SILEIGHTY is a road car produced by Nissan. Combining the front of an S13 Silvia with the back of a 180SX, hence the name, it only appears in Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2, with later games adding Nissan's "official" Sileighty built by tuner Kids Heart.

Colors[]

Three colors are available. They are are unnamed in both games:

  • Midnight Purple Pearl
  • Yellow
  • Blue

In-game description[]

Viewed from the front it looks like the Silvia S13, but viewed from the rear we see the 180SX.[1] There are probably some people who don't know, but this kind of car actually exists! This is the car known as the Sil '80. Recently, these are also actually being sold by Nissan dealers.[2]

The trick is actually pretty simple. At the time of a full model change in May 1988, the 5th generation Silvia, the S13, and the 180SX,[1] which made its debut in March 1989, were sister models sharing the same platform, a fact that no-one knew. The difference between the 180SX[1] and the Silvia was whether the body was a notchback or hatchback shape - the basic mechanism was shared. Moreover, the only difference at the front was the body panels. If you took those on the inside would be the same. Thus, the front section of the 180SX[1] was removed and the front section of the Silvia was fitted. So, as this was a 180 with a Silvia face, it became the Sil' 80. Conversely, there was also a car where the front section of the Silvia was removed and the front section of the 180SX[1] was fitted. This was a Silvia with a 180 face, so it became the 1 'Via'.[3]

Incidentally, cars have been sighted in which the front section of the Lancer Evolution has been fitted to Mitsubishi cars such as the Mirage or Libero in the same way.

Acquisition[]

GT1[]

It can be obtained by completing the FR Challenge in Special Events. It has a 50% chance to be awarded as a prize car.

GT2[]

It can be obtained by winning the first race of FR Challenge.

Trivia[]

  • This version of the Sileighty appears to be based on the Impact Blue Sileighty appearing in Initial D, due to the silver BBS wheels and whale tail rear spoiler, although the shade of blue is not exactly the same as the one appearing there. In particular, the Sileighty in it is based on the zenki/early model 180SX, as opposed to the kouki/late model 180SX used in Kids Heart's "official" Sileighty.
  • In GT2, the Sileighty cannot be used in the Silvia & 180SX Club one-make race, as it was not included in the list of permitted cars.
