In-game description[]

"Special spec S13 Silvia with the popular options set as standard equipment."

The Nissan Silvia, called the 240SX in the States, had a loyal following since it was first introduced in 1988 because of its extremely sporty nature and head-turning good looks.

The most popular was the fifth-generation model, which many felt was the most attractive in the car's lineage. Produced from 1988 to 1993 and dubbed the S13, the stylish coupe was also heralded by the media, garnering Japan Car of the Year honors for 1988. It would eventually go on to become the best-selling Silvia ever. The top of the line version was the K's model, powered by Nissan's CA18DET, a turbocharged DOHC inline-4 that produced 173 HP/6400 rpm and 166.3 ft-lb of torque at 4000.

From the driver's seat, the engine felt much more powerful, thanks mainly to the car's lean curb weight of 1140 kg. Its straight-line prowess and finely-tuned suspension that included a compliant multilink setup at the rear made the FR (Front engine, Rear drive)[1] sports coupe a true driver's car that was capable on both winding roads and the open highway.

In February 1990, a Diamond Select Edition was added to the lineup. This special model featured an array of optional features such that included automatic climate control, aluminum wheels, and a rear spoiler, allowing prospective owners to tailor their car toward a grand tourer or a pure sports car.

In either form, the Nissan Silvia delighted all sports-car fans on a budget and became a favorite among tuners and drifters all over the world.

Used Cars (GT7)[]

Nissan's Silvia has a long and celebrated history. One of the best-loved Silvia models is the S13, which was first sold in the 1980s. This two-door coupé was popular in Japan when it debuted, and was especially sought after by the younger crowd. The 1990 'K's' variant boasts a front-mounted 1.8L straight-four turbo. With its solid RWD performance, it is everything a driver could ask for. Furthermore, its compact body makes it competitive on both winding roads and traditional circuits.

Fabio Filippini[]

The fifth-generation Nissan Silvia was one of my favourite Japanese cars of the early '90s. One thing that has always impressed me about it is the quality of its shape. Specifically, the slight 'S' curve in the side profile, above the wheel of the front fender. This gives a very delicate and sensitive finish to the surface modelling and reflections.
