The car appears to be the #23 driven by Satoshi Motoyama and Benoît Tréluyer, who achieved a 1st place finish in the 2008 Super GT season Driver's Championship.

In-game descriptionEdit

"The first to incorporate new regulations; the GT-R that met the expectations of fans with its overwhelming speed."

When the all-new R35 GT-R made its debut in the Fall of 2007, it was obvious that Nissan intended its supercar to go racing. The company didn't waste much time making its official announcement. Only a month after the GT-R went on sale, Nissan told the Japanese press that the new GT-R would compete in the Super GT Series, the most popular race series in Japan, perhaps all of Asia.

Specifically developed with 2009 vehicle regulations in mind, this race-ready Nissan GT-R featured an innovative construction design that centered on the cabin. While its overall appearance was similar to that of the production GT-R, the race car was a completely different animal.

The engine was a 4.5-liter V8 based on the VK45DE, the power plant in the Fairlady Z GT race car from the previous year. It was reported to produce more than 493 HP.

In competition, the number 23 Xanavi Nismo GT-R piloted by Satoshi Motoyama and Benoit Treluyer, showed incredibly performance from the opening round of the car's maiden season, winning the first two races. In the end it won a total of three races, good enough to bring the team the driver's title in 2008.

In all, five GT-Rs competed in the Super GT series that year. The GT-R finished 1-2 in the opening round at Suzuka, and won a total of seven out of that year's nine races, meeting, and perhaps exceeding, the expectations of Nissan and GT-R fans all over Asia.
