The Opel Tigra Ice Race Car is a rally car produced by Opel. It only appears in Gran Turismo 2.
Although the car doesn't show a driver number, it clearly appears to be the #3 driven by Yvan Muller, who won the 1998-99 Andros Trophy.
In-game description[]
The following description is a translation of the car's description from GT2's NTSC-J version:
The 24 Hours of Chamonix, held annually in Chamonix in the Alps, famous for its skiing, is not a 24-hour surface long race, but an ice race with multiple sprint races held within the 24 hours. And the machine competing in this race is based on Opel's Compact Coupe, the Tigra.
This machine, called the Tigra V6 4X4, is, as the name suggests, a 4WD machine equipped with a V6 unit. It is a complete racing machine with a steel tubular frame and a carbon body in the shape of Tigra. The body bannered body is a mere shadow of the normal Tigra, and features very large, flared fenders. The rear wing is oversized, and its style is unforgettable.
The power unit mounted in the front mid-section, behind the front tires, is a 3.0-liter V6 DOHC from the Omega, Opel's top-of-the-line model, and has been tuned to reach a maximum output of 400ps.
This power is transmitted to the vehicle via a 6-speed sequential transmission and a 4WD system with 50:50 drive power distribution directly connected to the front and rear surfaces, with Michelin Subike tires.
There is also an Astra V6 4x4 that has the same origins.
