In-game description[]
This description is taken from the NTSC version of Gran Turismo 2:
In 1995, the Cavalier gave way to the Vauxhall/Opel Vectra. It didn't look much different, but the Vectra was a ground-up new car with greater refinement and comfort. High performance came with two-liter SRi versions and a pair of 2.5-liter V6s. The 170 BHP SRi unit had enough grunt to see 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of over 140 mph. The GSi V6 was even better, with 190 BHP, and shaved half a second off the 0-60 and add a few mph to the top speed. In GSi guise, the Vectra wore 17-inch alloy wheels wide sporty tires, and the interior beefed up with sports seats. In 1999, Lotus was enlisted to work on the independent MacPherson strut front, multi-link rear suspension and redefine the car's handling. The SRi and GSi rode lower than other Vectras, with stiffer springs and shocks. Four-wheel disc brakes ensured good stopping ability. Although Vauxhall's Touring Car - which you can also drive in GT2 - was actually a two-liter, the GSi V6 was the closest road version in terms of performance and handling.
