In-game description[]
"With a twin-cam engine, this 106 model was the definition of a hot hatch."
Peugeot's entry level vehicle is the 106, and there exists a wide variety of 106 models ranging from 1.1L to 1.6L as well as a 1.5L diesel. Among these various models are two vehicles in particular which are of interest: the 106 Rallye[1], which is obviously based on a rally car, and the sports model, the S16.
The 106 Rallye[1] made its debut alongside the normal 106 models. Initially, it was given a 99 BHP 1.3L SOHC engine, but this was later switched for a 1.6L SOHC inline-4 in a minor change. The 1.6L produces 102 BHP @ 6200 rpm, has a maximum torque of 97.6 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm and is combined with a 5-speed MT with close ratio gears. It is a motorsport base model, so the equipment is simplified and the car is very light. Its greatest advantage was that it is 60 kg lighter than the S16 which is the hot hatch model, at 900 kg.
Its direct handling characteristic is much like driving a go-cart On the other hand, the S16 was the sports grade of the 106, and a successor to the XSi. This is the most powerful 106 that appeared at the minor change. As can be told by the model name, it is given a 1.6L DOHC inline-4 engine, with a max output of 116 BHP/6600 rpm, and a max torque of 104.8 lb-ft//5200 rpm. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The suspension is basic, front strut and rear trailing arm layout, and its driving characteristic is that of a traditional FF hot hatch, with strong tuck in.
Skilled drivers can easily slide out the tail end by letting off the throttle inside a turn. The S16 that appeared after the minor change was more stability-oriented that the XSi, but it was still a wild car that was fun to throw around.

Trivia[]
- For some reason, this car shared the same engine sound as the Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) '97. In GT6 version 1.21, it was changed to use the Peugeot 206 CC engine sound.
- In GT6, it is possible to install an unpainted carbon fiber hood on this car, it and the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97 being the only Standard/Simple interior cars with the ability to do so.
