In-game description[]
- "Are you interested in a car that was built to tackle winding roads? Then, have I got the car for you - the Peugeot 205 GTI. The 205 made its debut more than 40 years ago in 1983, yet its design remains timeless and modern to this day. Initially, Peugeot designated the 205 as a WRC rally contender, but it became clear that a sportier version was needed. Enter the GTI. The true allure of the 205 GTI lies in its 1.6-liter inline-4, paired with a chassis tipping the scales at just 875 kg (1,929 lb)! In 1986, the engine was enlared to 1.9L, producing 128.2 HP, while the chassis remained about the same weight. On mountain roads, this car was a beast. It put the hot in "hot" hatches and remains loyal to the spirit of sporty French cars."

Car Index (GT7)[]
In 1983, after more than 15 years of production, the Peugeot 104 passed the torch as the brand's compact hatchback to the all-new 205.
Designed by Peugeot's in-house team, the 205 featured a transverse engine layout and quickly became a bestseller, thanks to its modem styling and comfortable interior.
But the story of the 205 doesn't end there. Alongside its debut, Peugeot unveiled the 205 Turbo 16, a high-performance model developed specifically for competition in the World Rally Championship's Group B category. Peugeot recognized the need for a road-going sports model that captured the spirit and capability of the 205 Turbo 16. This resulted in the creation of the iconic hot hatch, the 205 GTI.
Its greatest appeal lay in its high-performance engine. Although it only measured a mere 3.7 m long and weighed 1984 lbs, this compact car came powered by a high-revving 1.6-liter SOHC engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In 1986, engine displacement was increased from 1.6 liters to 1.9, which resulted in a output of 128.2 HP. The car also featured an excellent suspension setup with struts on the front wheels and trailing arms at the rear. Through turns, the 205 GTI showcased exceptional performance, rivaling the reigning "king" of hot hatches at the time, the Golf GTI.
In Europe alone, sales of the Peugeot 205 GTI surpassed 300,000 units. This masterpiece of French engineering is one of the most important cars of 1980s -1990s automotive history.
