In-game description[]
- "Peugeot Sport's 208 GTi picked up the hot hatch mantle from the legendary 205 GTi. The car employed an FF layout, meaning its engine was mounted in front and powered the front wheels. A more compact body that its predecessor, the 207, allowed it to weight about a 220 lb (100 kg) less. The engine came in form of a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 that produced 197.2 HP and 202.5 ft-lb of torque."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
The 208 GTi is a sports model of the 208, Peugeot's mainstream compact car. It officially debuted at the Paris Motor Show in the fall of 2012, following the announcement of the new 208 in spring of the same year.
One of the development objectives of the 208 series was the redefining of their B-segment car, learning from the 207 that had become too big and heavy. The platform was carried over from the 207 but they successfully downsized the car by shaving down the overhang in the front and rear to make the overall length under 4 m. Its component materials were changed to make the car 100 kg lighter than the previous model.
This had especially great merits for the GTi, the sports model. They were now able to revisit the iconic 205 GTi that was a smash hit all around the world; a light, small, fun and fast sports model that is both chic and comfortable.
On the surface the changes are subtle, aside from the large roof spoiler and 18-inch wheels, plus trim differences. But thorough work has been done under the skin, with the front and rear tread width being widened by 10 mm and 20 mm respectively and the suspension, subframe and arms have been specially set for this model.
The legacy direct injection 1.6 liter inline 4 cylinder was powered up to 197 BHP / 28.0 kgfm and combined with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 230 km/h top speed and the 0-100 km/h acceleration of 6.8 seconds puts the car in the top tier in this class of hot hatch cars.

Chris[]
While the standard 208 GTi was undeniably a small and light car that offered loads of fun... This Peugeot Sport-engineered trim brings the driving experience to a whole other level. Its exquisite chassis setup delivers unrivalled composure... On even the most winding of mountain roads, making it a sheer joy to drive. In fact, its chassis is reason enough to put this car in your collection.

Trivia[]

The Mission Challenge thumbnail for the non-Peugeot Sport variant before it was replaced.
- In GT Sport's database files, there is an entry for a Peugeot 208 GTi N200, complete with a car name menu asset.[1] However, no information remains of the car, either from game files or pre-release content.
- Additionally, a graphic for a non-Peugeot Sport version of the car (named simply the Peugeot 208 GTi '14; internally named _208_gti_14) can also be found in the game's data files, rendered for use for an early version of the Mission Challenge interface.[2] All materials pertaining to the scrapped N200 version of the car also reflects the non-Peugeot Sport version of the car, as the N200 car's internal name is "_208_gti_n200_xx", while the Peugeot Sport model is internally named "_208_gti_ps_14" (note the missing "ps" for Peugeot Sport in the scrapped variants).
- Despite its in-game name and description matching that of the regular 208 GTi, the car that is featured in-game appears to be the 208 GTi 30th by Peugeot Sport.
