In-game description[]
- "For more than six decades, the Porsche 911 has remained a timeless icon within the brand's storied lineup. In 2018, Porsche unveiled the eighth-generation model, known as the "992." Built on the MMB platform, the 992 utilized more aluminum in its construction, achieving a lighter curb weight. The pinnacle of the 992 series was the 911 Turbo S, a model that outshined its siblings in performance.[1] Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-6 that delivered 641 HP/590.2 ft-lb to all four wheels, this gasoline-powered engine catapulted the 911 to new heights in a landscape increasingly dominated by electric vehicles."

Car Index (GT7)[]
For more than 60 years, the Porsche 911 has reigned as the crown jewel of the historic sports-car company, and in 2018, it entered its eighth generation, codenamed[2] "992."
Visually, the 992 refined the design language introduced by its predecessor, the 991. While the body grew slightly larger, Porsche made significant strides in weight management by incorporating more aluminum into the construction. One notable departure from tradition was the elimination of the "narrow body" base model, a hallmark of previous generations.
A key innovation in the 992's design was the new "MMB" modular development platform. This flexible architecture included a front axle, floor, and rear axle, designed to accommodate both rear-engine and mid-engine configurations by simply adjusting the rear axle position. The powertrain reflected a move toward downsizing, with the base model powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6. Power output varies by model, with the Carrera generating 379.7 HP and the Carrera S delivering 443.8 HP. The standard gearbox was an 8-speed PDK, while a 7-speed manual was available for the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S.
In April 2020, the range-topping Turbo S model joined the 992 lineup. Featuring a slightly shorter stroke than its predecessors, the twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-6 produced an impressive 641 HP and 800 Nm of torque 590.2 ft-lb), sending power to all four wheels. These figures translated into phenomenal performance: the Turbo S accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 330 km/h. As the automotive world edges toward electrification, the 992 Turbo S may well represent the pinnacle of the internal combustion era for the iconic 911.

Trivia[]
- The car's active aerodynamics are disabled in the game; instead GT Auto Wing Type B allows the active rear wing to be set to be up (albeit permanently).
- Of note that the car's driving mode is set on Normal, instead of Sport/Sport Plus.
