In-game description[]
The following description is a translation of the car's description from GT2's NTSC-J version:
Ruf introduced to the world a complete machine called the Ruf BTR 3.4, based on the 930-bodied 911, which had been sold for a long time until the new generation of Porsche 911s, the 964-bodied 911s, appeared in 1989.
The BTR 3.4 was a compliant car based on the NA model of the Porsche 911 with 930 body, and was characterized by the fact that the engine installed in it was given various outputs depending on the type. Basically, the engine displacement was 3.4 liters, and the power was increased by adding one turbocharger to it, but the model called Type I produced 374ps, Type II 400ps, and Type III 408ps. Since these figures were already achieved more than 10 years ago, it is easy to understand the high level of Ruf's technological capabilities.
The BTR is more than just a power-up version. The BTR is not just a more powerful version, but a model with a strengthened engine, transmission, body, and constant rotation, etc. In addition to the NA model, there is also a body based on the turbo body.
At a glance, it looks like a Porsche 911, but if you look closely, you will notice that there is no Porsche emblem anywhere on it. This car is a super sports car made by a manufacturer called Ruf.
