In-game description[]

"Ruf is a manufacturer that has a lot of cachet among Porsche owners—and with good reason. They've made a name for themselves by taking Porsche base models and somehow improving upon perfection. Even for them, though, the CTR3 is an incredible achievement. It's a mid-engine design developed, engineered and built on a unique standalone platform. The engine is a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six. And has a top speed of 236.1 mph. That's hypercar territory!"
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
"Ruf is a German automotive manufacturer that uses Porsche components to construct high-performance vehicles. Their most impressive production line is the CTR series. The first-generation CTR, dubbed the Yellowbird, was based on the Porsche 911. This CTR3 is the third-generation model which debuted in 2007. It uses the longest mid-engine chassis that Ruf have developed. The 3.8L flat-six twin turbo can generate up to 690.3 BHP of power."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Used Car Dealership

The CTR3 is a RUF original sportscar released in 2007, taking the place of their flagship CTR and CTR2.

Until this car, RUF had developed their CTR based on the 930, and the CTR2 on the Porsche 993 Turbo. However while the CTR3 used some parts from the Porsche 997, the design and development of the car was done independently by RUF.

And the midship layout of the chassis is also very different from the previous CTR series. Mounted in the rear of the space frame together with a newly designed horizontally mounted 6 speed sequential transmission, the engine is also not just a tuned 3.8 liter 911 engine, but a newly designed 3.8 liter intercooled twin turbo flat 6, producing 690 BHP and 90.7 kgfm torque.

With a top speed of 380 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 3.2 seconds, it was one of the fastest cars of its time.
