Description[]
"The ultimate naturally-aspirated flat-6 machine, meticulously crafted by Ruf."
Ruf continues to create distinctive sports cars, all of them based on Porsche models, and infusing them with its own unique philosophy and craftsmanship. Among their enduring model lines is the "RGT," based on 911 GT3 models.
At the heart of the RGT lies the concept of enhancing the performance of the GT3 while endowing it with the comfort of a road car. At the 2015 Geneva show, Ruf unveiled a new addition to this lineage: the RGT 4.2, based on the Type 991, 911 GT3.
As its name suggested, it came powered by a 4.2-liter flat-6 engine, increasing the displacement from the standard 3.8 liters of the Type 991, 911 GT3 by nearly 400 cc. However, the increased displacement was not its only notable feature. It employed the renowned "Mezger" touch with the GT1 crankshaft at its foundation—an engine celebrated for its racing success since the days of the air-cooled flat-6. The car produced an impressive 123.3 HP per liter, culminating in a maximum power output of 517.7 HP.
In terms of design, the RGT 4.2 boasted aggressive riveted over fenders, while the interior featured an integrated roll cage, an element for which the RGT series is renowned. Combining the spirit of competition with the elegance of a road car, this model exemplified the Ruf ethos, offering the ultimate vehicle for the gentleman driver who sought both track performance and daily usability.
