In-game description[]
"Providing ultimate performance with a lightweight body and a Magnum Hemi option."
The names of most American pickup trucks are tagged with 3- or 4-digit numbers, but the number attached to this particular vehicle represents the chassis load. With Dodge Rams, 1/2 ton is represented by 1500, 3/4 ton by 2500, and 1 ton by 3500. This designation is similar to Chevrolet/GMC pickup trucks.
The Dodge Ram 1500 underwent a makeover in 2003. Full changes for the 2500 and 3500 were scheduled for the next year. But something big was hidden in those 2500/3500 changes. The "Hemi" engine known as the "Magnum" had returned.
To Americans, full-sized pickup trucks are regarded as a sort of sports car that can also do the job of a work vehicle. Among these drivers, the Hemi Magnum's reputation is outstanding. "Hemi" stands for "hemispherical combustion chamber". For two generations - from 1951 to 1958, and from 1966 to 1971 - the Hemi engine brought Chrysler the image of "high performance".
As for the newly returned Hemi's specs: a 5.7L, V8 OHV capable of putting out 345 HP. This number surpasses not only its rivals, but even the 306 HP of the previous generation Ram's 8.0L Magnum V10.
And now, with the 1500's revamp coming a year before the 2500 and 3500's full changes, optional installation of this Hemi Magnum has been made available. This is the Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Magnum. Variations of the Ram 1500 include the 2-door single-row-seater, and the 4-door 2-row-seater quad cab, with both being offered in 2WD and 4WD. The combination of the lightest body in the series and the Hemi engine makes for unparalleled performance.

Trivia[]
- If this car is used in Arcade Mode and Family Cup races on Gran Turismo 4, it will always be matched up with opponents far less powerful than it, such as the Daihatsu Midget II D-Type '98, the Honda S500 '63, and the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe (Type-1) '68. This makes it very easy to win Arcade Mode races with this car.
- Due to it's large size, when entering the pit lane in GT4, the car will go into first-person view.
- Despite not being a playable vehicle in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7, a less detailed, modified version of this car often appears as a scenery vehicle in some tracks, as with the Acura CL and Audi RS 4 '01. There's also alternate variants of the scenery car with a roof-covered cab and/or with a top one line stripe.
- This car also appears as scenery vehicle in GT6 in some tracks in those games. In particular, a version with red side stripes is used in GT6's version of Brands Hatch and Red Bull Ring, possibly as a safety truck.
