In-game Description[]
- "Are you familiar with the term 'fourgonnette'? It's a French word which means a 'light van'. The Renault Kangoo has been a best-selling fourgennette since its debut in 1997. But the Kangoo is no ordinary van - it's a very popular MPV suited for long-distance drives and camping. Access to the back is made easy by sliding doors and folding seats that give way to ample cargo room. This convenient feature has been cited by many admirers as an example of 'ludospace'. A little car that packs a whole lot, the Kangoo expresses the genius of French automotive design."

- "Perfect timing! I just received a little French van that I think you might love. It's a first-generation Renault Kangoo from 2001. Offering great control and ample storage, the Kangoo was remarkable for pitching itself as a leisure vehicle. And its pitch paid off, leading to the car's success as both a commercial van and a sporty MPV. Sure, its 1.4L engine only produced 73 BHP, but French cars are known for making the most of what they've got. With its springy suspension that's perfect for cornering, this is a car that delivers on fun!"

Car Index (GT7)[]
In France, there has been a long-running trend of 'fourgennette' style vehicles, small commercial vans, with a number of bestsellers emerging over the years. One such car which stemmed from this trend was the Renault Kangoo, originally debuting in 1997.
When developing the Kangoo, alongside optimizing its performance as a commercial vehicle, Renault also added some features that would give it some potential to be an MPV for personal leisure as well. This model included sliding doors for the rear passenger seats and separate rear seats that could be individually adjusted.
This strategy proved to be a success and the Kangoo became the forerunner of the 'ludospace' leisure activity vehicle segment. The roughly 4m long body provided abundant cargo space, making it the go-to model for outdoors activities.
The Kangoo was available with a variety of different power units to fit its purpose, but the model featured here uses the 1.4L gasoline engine. At only 73 BHP, it offers the bare minimum in power, but the ability to use all the power available is in the true spirit of French automobiles. And with its soft suspension, this makes for an unusually exhilarating driving experience.

Trivia[]
- The Front Type A part in GT Auto is based on the Renault Laguna's (as well as the Espace's) front splitter. In Europe, during the in late nineties to early 2000s, installing front splitters from those cars was a popular modification.
