Renault Sport Racing, commonly known as Renault Sport, Renaultsport, or RST (an abbreviation of its former name Renault Sport Technologies), was the motorsport, performance and special vehicles division of Renault. It was officially established in 1976 as a merger between the Alpine and Gordini competition departments. RST organized many Renault-backed one-make championships worldwide and ran Renault group's official involvement in motor racing, except for Formula One. In 2021, Renault Sport merged with Alpine and Renault adopted that brand as their performance brand, including having their Formula One team rebranded as such.
Renault Sport was not treated as a separate manufacturer from main Renault brand until Gran Turismo 4. Because it was no longer treated as a separate entity by Renault in 2021 after merging with Alpine, all Renault Sport cars were changed back to Renault in Gran Turismo 7 and their Manufacturers Cup (formerly Manufacturer Series) entry were transferred to the parent marque.

Trivia[]
- An entry for a Renault Sport Spider can be found in GT2 demos' replay name listings, but it was cut from the final game.[1]
- In Gran Turismo Sport, Renault Sport is the only manufacturer with more than one Gr.4 cars, excluding Toyota, whose second Gr.4 car is available only through a survey. In GT7, this record is equated with not only Toyota (with the GR Supra becoming their loan car), but also Alfa Romeo, with the addition of Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93, and Nissan, which also has the Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) Touring Car.
