Special Events are races available at World Circuits in Gran Turismo 7 , introduced in Update 1.40 alongside Weekly Challenges . They are time-limited events tied to a specific set of Weekly Challenges - once the Challenges set rolls over to the next week, access to a Special Event is lost. Most event types consist of one-make races or free-for-all thematic races, although several events are also based on existing events.
Special Events were typically run three times before they are permanently removed from the Weekly Challenge rotation. This three-race "limit" had two exceptions in December 2024 (following Update 1.54; events are added in the background with updates) when the All Japan GT Car Championship had its fourth run of December 6th, 2024, with Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters also having a fourth run the following week. Additionally, the Fiat 500F One-Make was only ran once.

Trivia [ ] The opponent lists for certain series' are derived from other events and missions.
The Fiat 500F One-Make uses the same opponent list as the race of the same name in The Magic Mountain .
The BAC Mono One-Make uses the liveries of the opponents in the Trial Mountain Circuit One Hour race in The Human Comedy .
Some opponents in the All Japan GT Car Championship special event reference JGTC cars from the pre-Super GT period, including those cut from Gran Turismo 2
Apart from one-make races, vehicle restrictions are not applied to the DTM, Group C, and JGTC special events, and as a result players are not limited in car choices for said events (such as using a powerful Vision GT car).
The World Touring Car 800 special event does not use the opponent list featuring GTWS competitors from the namesake original event; instead, a different opponent list is used. Said list uses original driver names and launch day Gr.3 cars from 2010 or newer, with the exceptions of the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II and the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 '18 , the former being the only 2000s-based opponent and the latter being the only post-launch opponent, instead of its 2013 counterpart .
The Race Start and Finish jingles (Race Start 09 and Race Results 09) are also not carried over from the original event. Ironically, the F3500-A One-Make event does use said jingles, being the only Special Event to do so currently.
It is also the only Special Event to have Mechanical Damage enabled.
The opponent liveries for the Superbird Special Event would later be used in a Daily Race A at Daytona Tri-Oval , held between March 10 to 17, 2025.
The description text for the Honda Civic one-make targets it specifically to the '80s and '90s models. However, any Civic model can be used, although only the models from the period mentioned (EF, EG, and EK models) appear as opponents.
