The compact sports car market has been losing momentum in recent years, but Toyota and Subaru got together with an aim to reinvigorate this market with the Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ.
While these two cars have different fascia and interiors, the cars are brothers born from the common concept. And the BRZ is Subaru's first front engine rear wheel drive, initialled BRZ for 'Boxer Engine', 'Rear wheel drive' and 'Zenith'.
The BRZ aims to provide a sports car in which anyone can enjoy driving, with a compact body 4,240 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width, with a wheel base of 2,570 mm. Configured as a 2 door notch-back coupé with sashless doors, the focus of the styling is on sportiness and a low centre of gravity.
The engine is Subaru's signature 2 litre horizontally opposed engine for low centre of gravity, combined with Toyota's D-4S fuel injection technology. This allows the engine to produce an impressive 197 BHP while naturally aspirated. With strut suspension in the front and double wishbones in the rear, the primary focus of the suspension tuning focuses on the fun of sports car driving, and ease of control.
The BRZ, debuting in 2012, has undergone various improvements almost every year, raising its level of refinement. In the 2015 model the characteristics of the electric power steering was revised and the vehicle rigidity was reinforced to further raising its steering feel and ride quality.
This car can be purchased in the Subaru section of Brand Central for 30,000 Credits.
